Crayola ColorStudio HD iMarker Digital Stylus
Ella received this for her bday. It a companion stylus fro Crayola’s drawing app on the IPad. The app is free, but comes with only a limited number of free coloring pages. Purchasing this stylus unlocks the rest of the pages and other features of the app. Ella is really into drawing and coloring, so this seemed like the perfect gift.
The Good
- The app comes with a good variety of color pages.
- The coloring pages are animated which makes them stand out from other coloring apps.
- The app allows you to create your own coloring pages.
- The app comes with a ton of color options like crayons, markers, pencils, etc.
- The app is pretty easy to use and designed with kids in mind.
- The pen is a good size for kids and has a decent feel to it.
- Appears to be made ok and will probably withstand Ethan throwing it across the room a few times.
- The registration of the pen on the app was easily done.
The Bad
- A little expensive. You can get it for around $24 on Amazon and I’ve seen it as low as $15.
- The pen requires you to press pretty hard on the IPad screen to draw. It takes a little while to get used to and was a little hard for Ethan.
Conclusion
So far we’re pretty happy with this purchase. Ella has been using it a lot the last couple of days and it gets her seal of approval. Hopefully the app gets future updates with new coloring pages.
