Kitchen Transom

Here a couple of photos our recently completed kitchen project. We removed the top part of the wall between the dining room and kitchen. This really opens up the two rooms and gives them both a bigger feel.

Ella’s New Playroom

April 9th, 2008 by edcurtis

We just wrapped up our winter project and it came out pretty good. Our garage is fairly big and last summer we built a storage building in the back yard for all of our junk. So, we decided to take the back of our garage and turn it into a playroom for Ella. It’s a decent sized room (20×7) and we still have enough room in the garage for both of our cars (barely). As with all of our previous projects we forgot to take a before picture, so you’ll just have to imagine a solid wall with a door to the garage.

Ethan is getting bigger…

Here are a couple of updated pics of Ethan. He’s still doing really well and is eating like a horse (he gets that from his mom ;-) )! He’s a little over 5 pounds now.

Here is another scrapbooking page that I threw together. This one is based on some photos that we took of Ella yesterday when she was playing in our neighbors tree.

Scrapbooking

November 13th, 2007 by Ed

Scrapbooking? Yep. Jess and I like to think of ourselves as somewhat “crafty” and scrapbooking seems like a good fit for us. Last year for Christmas I decided to scrapbook Jess a 2007 calendar with various photos of Ella and the family. It turned out pretty good and I enjoyed doing it quite a bit, except that it took a lot more time than I had anticipated. Unfortunately I haven’t had any time or inspiration to do anymore scraping this year.

Well, recently while doing some research of photo editing software packages I stumbled across the world of digital scrapbooking. It’s pretty much the same thing as traditional scrapbooking except that it’s done on the computer. Being a computer geek this is right up alley. We can create our scrapbooking pages using papers, embellishments, brushes, etc and then send them off to Walmart to be printed. Seemed pretty cool to me so last weekend I gave it a try and below is how my first attempt came out:

Big Girls Don’t Cry

November 12th, 2007 by Ed

It’s almost time for the next season of American Idol and Ella is going to submit another audition tape. This time she’s singing something a little more “mainstream”. She felt that her submission last year of the Big Red Car was a little dated and didn’t reach her target audience. So, this year she belting out Big Girls Don’t Cry by Fergie.

Here is a preview of her performance. The complete version will be available on her soon to be release album of cover songs this holiday season. These compilation DVDs are going to go fast so you better get your orders in ASAP! They also make great stocking stuffers… ;-)
